Kate Perry’s Fireworks

My 7 yr old nephew R and 3 yr old niece R were singing this song about a plastic bag. They learnt it from their sister, ten-year old R.

I was so excited to discover the lyrics, as R was quite frustrated when I sang “Do you have a feel… for a plastic bag”????

Rest of the lyrics is quite inspiring.

About being original and not replaced.  Definitely a GEN Y message.

Baby, you’re a firework
Come on, let your colours burst
Make ’em go “Oh, oh, oh”
You’re gonna leave ’em all in “awe, awe, awe”

You don’t have to feel like a wasted space
You’re original, cannot be replaced

If you only knew what the future holds
After a hurricane comes a rainbow

Maybe your reason why all the doors are closed
So you could open one that leads you to the perfect road
Like a lightning bolt, your heart will glow
And when it’s time, you’ll know

You just gotta ignite the light, and let it shine
Just own the night like the 4th of July
